What are you doing to ensure we are safe while being social on our trip to Release Resistance?
While we do not require masks because of our outdoor spacious setting, rest assured we are going the extra mile to help keep you and your family safe during these trying times…
§ All units & public spaces have gone through a multi-step sanitizing process which includes the following….
§ All blankets, quilts, sheets and towels have been washed in a hot sanitizing wash. This is done every time someone checks out of one of our units.
§ All knobs, handles, switches, remotes, railings and surfaces have been pre-sanitized by the cleaning staff prior to beginning their regular cleaning processes.
§ A bottle of sanitizer is left in each unit. We encourage guests to use this as needed. We also ask that ALL guests, use this sanitizer prior to leaving their unit. This helps to protect our cleaning staff as well.
§ Masks are provided for those who would like one.
May I bring my own alcohol for my event?
Yes, however you must obtain a Host Liquor Liability Insurance & provide a notarized copy to us prior to the event. You can learn more about that at: www.theeventhelper.com.
May I bring my own alcohol for my Glamping staycation?
What you do in your tent or yurt stays there, just like a hotel! Please just pick up after yourself when partaking outside of your unit. With the wildlife and all of our pets and bare footed friends running around, no one wants to step on broken glass or garbage.
What amenities are included in my Glamping stay?
The best part of staying with us is the level of pampering you receive. Leave the necessary supplies for camping at home, glamping is all about luxury and ease.
Your stay includes assorted pillows, fresh linens and towels, coffee, water, breakfast, simple snacks and more. Each unit also comes equipped with games, books, a charging station for your tablet or phone, a flashlight or headlamp, yoga mat and more to customize your experience based on your pre-stay survey.
The indoor guest bathroom and shower is also fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, shaving needs, lotion, hair dryer & straightener as well as any last minute-forgotten items like toothbrushes or sanitizer/masks to-go.
Have a friend in the area that wants to stop in during your stay?
Sorry! But we do not permit TOURING or WALKING THE GROUNDS unless you are a registered guest or Social Club member– this is to protect the privacy and promote the serenity stay-over guests expect (You’ll appreciate the same policy when you come to stay overnight!).
Adhering to strict occupancy limits is the yin & yang of Release Resistance: it is the balance between sharing our property with families and really small groups while maintaining the quiet, peaceful ambience our visitors have come to expect and enjoy – especially those celebrating an anniversary, a honeymoon… recovering from chemo or a personal loss.
Is smoking allowed?
All of our units are non-smoking inside. We will charge a $250 cleaning fee if you smoke in the unit. This will be added to your bill automatically and is non-negotiable. You may smoke outside as long as you dispose of your butts in a designated receptacle outside of your unit. Between the ducks accidentally eating them or a spark happening in the woods, it’s best to just keep your butts in check.
Is breakfast provided?
YES! The best part of your custom glamping experience includes breakfast off of a pre-selected menu chosen the evening before. It is delivered to your unit's deck at your pre-selected time. From a fresh French Press pot of coffee to homemade scones, you won’t leave for your daily adventures hungry!
Can I bring firewood?
For your convenience we supply all your firewood for campfires. All campfires are restricted to the campfire area; no bonfires are allowed as we are surrounded by a forest. All campfires must be attended to at all times by an adult. You may not build a fire and then leave it unattended. Do not cut down any trees or limbs for firewood or campfire sticks. We are located outside of the Manistee National Forest area where forest fires are always a concern. Guests will be required to abide by any local or state imposed burning bans, if implemented. Do not build large fires on windy days.
Please DO NOT bring your own firewood. Transporting firewood from one location to another often brings with it non-native bugs that can be devastating to our forests, hence all of the dead ash trees. If you bring firewood onto the property, we will ask you to leave with it immediately.
Is it noisy there?
The best part about our private country setting is the quiet and serenity. While the most common sounds are song birds, frogs and crickets, you may also find these noises new and unusual if you’re not used to them at bedtime. You will hear the wind tapping on the tent walls, the patter of rain on the roof, the call of a nearby owl or pack of coyotes in the distance.
Earplugs are provided in each unit for your convenience.
Should I bring bug spray?
While we do our best to keep the units bug free, time outside is nature is not always predictable based on the season. Our Dewey Ducks can only eat so much!
During the warmer months, bug spray is always provided in the communal area but if you prefer a certain kind to keep the mosquitos away, feel free to BYOB, after all, you are experiencing a little #puremichigan.
How far is the walk to the restroom from my tent or yurt?
The indoor, heated restroom and shower is centrally located at the main lodge. From any tent or yurt, it is about a 2 to 3 minute walk depending on which unit you are in… Remember to bring a flashlight for trips in the middle of the night (also a good time for star gazing!). For your late night convenience, a custom made outhouse in true Glamping fashion will be installed Spring ’21.
Can children attend events?
Of course! Everyone is welcome at your rented event. We will discuss who you plan on inviting to help customize your experience for every age group to make your event truly special.
Can children stay overnight?
Not everyone can stay the night. Children over 12 years of age are welcome to visit Release Resistance for an overnight stay. At this more mature age they are better able to appreciate the serenity, scenic views, and the atmosphere we are known for. Between the hot stove in the units, deep pond in the middle of the property, the woods, and the nearby street, little ones can disappear quickly. Give yourself a break and get a babysitter!
How far is the closest grocery store?
If you’re a heavy snacker or failed to pack your cooler upon leaving for your trip you may want to stop at Meijer in Cedar Springs or Meijer/Walmart in Fremont or Big Rapids depending on which direction you’re coming from. The closest grocery store to us is just over 7 miles one way. We do have some amazing local restaurants and breweries/wineries around but expect to be in the car at least 10-15 minutes one way. Welcome to country living!
Will I have WIFI and cell service?
Guests typically enjoy WIFI in the yard around the house as well as the garden, deck and beach area. While we encourage you to use this time to disconnect, most units do NOT receive a WIFI signal and cell service is based on all things techy. Please enjoy this time to UNPLUG and reconnect.
When an outdoor wedding requires a tent and a dance floor, space is never an issue for your events.
